The swim course will take place on Rivington Reservoir which is the body of water at the bottom of the aerial view below just under the A. You can see the short road leading from one shore to the other and that is the road that you will cross on your bike as you leave transition and approach the first big climb of the day - Sheep House Lane.  If you look at the map and locate the "M61" sign then the straight road to the right of that is the track to the Anderton Centre which is where transition will be and where entry/exit to the reservoir will take place. The picture below shows the building at the entrance to the Anderton Centre on New Road and this is the view of the Reservoir from Horrobin Lane from the opposite bank there is a track/trail that follows the shoreline and you can view the Water Entry/Exit, which appears to have a very steep slope !                   the track/trail follows the shoreline all along to the Great Barn at one end and the ruins of "Liverpool Castle" at the other   the view from the castle ruins is a bit restricted but you can see quite a lot of the reservoir
